Founded in the late 1920's, Casa de Hogar El Buen Pastor is an orphanage assisted by El Buen Pastor Fund, a tax deductible non-profit corporation based in the U.S.A. Serving the needs of children in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, the goal at the El Buen Pastor Fund is to improve living conditions and future opportunities for the children. "Casa de Hogar" is the Spanish expression for an institutional home, and "el buen pastor" means the Good Shephard.

Mission Statement

The mission of the El Buen Pastor Fund is to aid the children residing in the orphanage, Casa de Hogar El Buen Pastor, to obtain a better standard of living, provide educational opportunities, assist in providing dental and health care, and provide an outlet for self expression.  Therefore, in an act of obedience to James 1:27, (to aid and assist orphans) it is our intent to provide support to the children and staff with love and prayers and in whatever way the Lord provides.  All funds raised will go directly for the support of this mission.

We realize there are many 501(c)(3) organizations supporting worthy causes. What distringuishes the El Buen Pastoral Fund from other tax deductible organizations is the fact that all donated funds go directly to the wellfare of the children. There are no administrative expenses of any kind for the board. All expenses are paid personally by the Board of Directors of the El Buen Pastoral Fund.
